Evade Egypt

You go to Egypt.

I give you treasures, resources for living your life in Me:

joy, belief, peace, self-control.

You leave them on the shelf.

You go to Egypt.

You are more desperate for relief than you are for Me.

But your relief is in Me.

Come to Me;

I love you;

I am your help.

Don’t confuse yourself; don’t mix Me up with Egypt.

Egypt is a snare, an empty promise.

Egypt cannot deliver.

(Has she ever delivered help to you?)

See Egypt for what she is--

A ruse, a desolate empty place.

See Me for what I am--

Your life.

I want to be your Everything.

I want to be your Light.

I do not take delight in your agony,

your confusion.

I take delight in your delight.

I take joy in your joy.

Do you understand? I am happy

at your happiness.

Please Me.

Come to Me.

Be with Me.

I long for you to be here with Me.

Then I will give you the desires of your heart.

Your heart will be full.

My heart will be blessed by you.

Leave Egypt behind--forever.

Come to Me, for I love you.

Isaiah 30: 2-7 (NIV)

2 …who go down to Egypt without consulting Me; who look for help to Pharaoh’s protection, to Egypt’s shade for refuge.

3 But Pharaoh’s protection will be to your shame, Egypt’s shade will bring you disgrace.

4 Though they have officials in Zoan, and their envoys have arrived in Hanes,

5 everyone will be put to shame because of a people useless to them, who bring neither help nor advantage, but only shame and disgrace.

6 An oracle concerning the animals of the Negev:

Through a land of hardship and distress, of lions and lionesses, of adders and darting snakes, the envoys carry their riches on donkeys’ backs, their treasures on the humps of camels, to that unprofitable nation,

7 to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless. Therefore I call her Rahab the Do-Nothing.

Isaiah 30:18 (NIV)

Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you;

He rises to show you compassion.

For the LORD is a God of justice.

Blessed are all who wait for Him!

Galatians 5:22 (NIV)

…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Psalm 37:4 (NIV)

Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.
