PASSING FROM DEATH TO EVERLASTING LIFE

the first man, Adam, sinned in eden by disobeying God's command

“16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it. For in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die." (Genesis 2:16-17)

“1 Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, "Yea, hath God said, ‘Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’ 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, "We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden, 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ‘Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.’" 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, "Ye shall not surely die; 5 for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof and ate, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he ate.” (Genesis 3:1-6)

The disobedience to god's command brought death to all descendents of adam

“In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return unto the ground, for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return."” (Genesis 3:19)

“Therefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, so death passed onto all men, for all have sinned.” (Romans 5:12)

You must receive god's gift of righteousness for eternal life

“For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by One, Jesus Christ.” (Romans 5:17)

Without the gift, god's wrath against sin remains on you

“He that believeth in the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him." (John 3:36)

“Verily, verily I say unto you, he that heareth My Word and believeth in Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)

The hope which no man can take away is seen by eyes of faith

“And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand.” (John 10:28)

“while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2Corinthians 4:18)

“For we know that if our earthly house, this tabernacle, were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” (2Corinthians 5:1)

“And this is the promise that He hath promised us: even eternal life.” (1John 2:25)
